NYC Pride March: Limited Places!! Happy Hour on June 22 and March on June 24

The March will take place on June 24, stepping off at noon, and PRISM is taking the lead in organizing a walking group with the national nonprofit organization oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) (https://www.ostem.org/) together with scientist colleagues from NYC-area universities. We will have a meet-and-greet and happy hour on Friday, June 22, at the RU Faculty club co-hosted with Columbia University’s qSTEM, where we will also meet and welcome members of the newly formed LGBTQ+ organization at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Third annual panel of Out LGBTQ+ Scientists!

After last year’s successful event, we have now confirmed the speakers at our next annual panel discussion about being “out” in science. We will hear the perspectives of Dr. Karissa Sanbonmatsu from Los Alamos National Laboratory, Dr. Manu Platt from Georgia Tech, Dr. Zirong Bao from MSKCC, and Dr. Ann Kwong form TREK Therapeutics. 

Refreshments will be served from 4:30pm in the Carson foyer; the panel will start at 5:00pm in Carson Auditorium; and a catered dinner reception for attendees to interact with the panelists will start at 6:30pm in the Faculty Club

2018 LGBT Health Workforce Conference

The LGBT Health Workforce Conference provides an overview of up-to-date practices (climate, educational, research, and clinical) in preparing the health care workforce to address the health concerns and disparities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities.  This conference is designed for health professionals (M.D., D.O., P.A.-C., R.N., N.P., D.D., social workers, psychologists, etc.), educators, and students (pre-health professions, professional schools, and graduate), but all interested are invited to attend. CME credit will be available.
